SUNEX FISH S8 300 X Hot Water Storage Tank for Domestic Hot Water
The SUNEX FISH S8 300 X is a floor-standing, enamelled hot water storage tank for storing and providing domestic hot water. The model has a nominal capacity of 300 litres and a declared ErP storage volume of 289 litres.
The version without an integrated heat exchanger is suitable for professionally planned hot water systems with suitable external tank charging or electric auxiliary heating. With an external diameter of 657 millimetres, the footprint remains manageable despite the larger storage volume.
Technology and Equipment
The storage tank is made of steel S235JR and is enamelled on the domestic water side. Two magnesium sacrificial anodes support the corrosion protection of the inner tank. The design is intended for storing domestic hot water.
A permanently foamed, CFC-free rigid polyurethane foam insulation with a thickness of 50 millimetres reduces heat loss to the surroundings. The grey PVC outer jacket encloses the insulation and forms a closed, easy-care exterior surface. The standby heat loss is 50 watts; the energy efficiency class is stated as B.
The equipment includes an inspection opening with a diameter of 122/179 millimetres, three connection positions for hot water sensors, a thermometer connection, a circulation connection, and two connections in G 1 1/2 inch for electric auxiliary heaters or heating elements.
Everyday Benefits
The inspection opening provides access to the inner tank for inspection, cleaning, and maintenance. Differently positioned sensor connections facilitate system-appropriate temperature detection at several tank heights.
A separate circulation connection supports the integration of hot water circulation. Unneeded openings can be closed during professional installation. Additionally, a connection option for the intended UV-20 disinfection system is available.
System integration and compatibility
The SUNEX FISH S8 300 X does not have an integrated heat exchanger. The stored drinking water must therefore be heated via a suitable external storage charging system or a separately sized electric auxiliary heater.
The hot water and cold water connections are each designed in G 1 inch. A connection in G 3/4 inch is available for a circulation line. The three sensor connections and the thermometer connection each have G 1/2 inch.
Heat generator, charging device, safety group, drinking water expansion vessel, pressure reducer, circulation, and temperature control must be sized to match the hot water demand and the intended system concept.
Technical data at a glance

| Nominal capacity | 300 liters |
| Suitable for drinking water | Yes |
| Storage tank material | Steel S235JR, enameled inside |
| Integrated heat exchangers | 0 |
| Insulation | 50 mm rigid PUR foam with gray PVC jacket |
| Maximum operating temperature | 95 °C |

Mounting
The storage tank must only be installed standing upright on a load-bearing, level and horizontal surface. For transport and installation, in addition to the height of 1,461 millimetres, the diagonal dimension of 1,557 millimetres and the empty weight of 82 kilograms must also be taken into account.
A suitable safety group and a safety valve with an opening pressure of 6 bar must be provided at the cold water connection. No shut-off device that impairs the safety function may be installed between the safety valve and the storage tank. If the supply pressure exceeds 6 bar, a suitable pressure reducer is required.
Before the heat generator or an electric auxiliary heater is put into operation, the storage tank must be completely filled, vented and checked for leaks at all connections.
Notes
For permanently safe operation, the water quality, corrosion protection and condition of the magnesium anodes must be checked regularly. A pH value of 6.5 to 8.5, an electrical conductivity of at least 200 µS/cm and a chloride content of no more than 150 mg/l are specified.
The magnesium anodes must be inspected at the latest every 18 months and replaced if they show corresponding wear. Shorter maintenance intervals may be required in the case of high water hardness, critical water quality, heavy deposits or intensive use.
At high hot water temperatures, suitable thermostatic anti-scald protection must be provided. Electric auxiliary heaters may only be connected in accordance with their respective instructions and by a qualified electrician.
