Product Overview & Application Area
The GEMA MDC 400 Bundle Module + Heating Element WEHP6 6.0 kW 400 V combines an MDC 400 heating module with a matching 6.0 kW electric immersion heater cartridge for operation at 400 V. The bundle is integrated into the heating circuit as an additional heat source and supports the heating of heating water in central heating systems.
The combination is suitable for systems in which electric supplementary heat, frost protection support, or controlled use of surplus electricity in the heating circuit is intended. The hydraulic and electrical integration must be planned and professionally implemented to suit the specific system.
Technology & Equipment
The MDC 400 module is designed as an electric instantaneous water heater or heating module for central heating systems. The steel tank is made of raw steel on the inside, powder-coated on the outside, and fitted with 50 mm thick polyurethane foam thermal insulation.
The WEHP6 heating element included in the bundle is based on the 400 V OWRG version with 6.0 kW output. It features an integrated thermostat, a control range of approx. 30 to 75 °C ±5 °C, and overheating protection at approx. 90 °C.
Everyday Benefits
The bundle offers a compact way to introduce electric heat directly into the heating circuit. Operators can use it to supplement an existing central heating system without having to separately match the heating element with a suitable module.
Thanks to the combination of heating module and electric immersion heater cartridge, the essential components for electric reheating in the heating circuit are already coordinated with each other. Safe circulation, sufficient minimum flow rate, and professional electrical integration remain particularly important.
System Integration & Compatibility
The MDC 400 heating module is intended for open or closed central heating systems with appropriate safety devices. The medium is water or a glycol mixture suitable for heating systems with a maximum glycol content of 50%.
The module is integrated in a parallel heating circuit on the flow or return line of the main heat source. For operation with 6.0 kW, a minimum flow rate of 343 l/h must be ensured; for this purpose, an additional circulation pump must be provided, which is designed and operated to match the system.

Installation
The heating module is integrated into a parallel heating circuit on the flow or return line of the main heat source. Before switching on, the heating module and the system must be completely filled and vented to prevent the heating element from running dry.
Installation, hydraulic integration, electrical protection, connection, and testing are tasks for qualified specialists. The additional circulation pump must be sized so that the required minimum flow rate is reliably achieved at the installed heating output.
Notes
The bundle does not replace proper system planning, heat load assessment, or electrical sizing. The safety valve, circulation pump, protective measures, protection, and control connection must match the specific system.
Operation without water is not permitted. The housing of the heating cartridge must not be covered or thermally insulated. In the event of unusual noises, odors, leaks, or malfunctions, the system must be taken out of operation and inspected by a specialist.
