How does a photovoltaic system work?
A photovoltaic system (PV or PV system for short) converts solar energy into electrical energy using the photovoltaic effect. Solar modules on the roof capture the solar energy and generate direct current, which is then converted into usable alternating current (230V) by an inverter. This means that the self-produced photovoltaic power can be used directly in the home, stored in a power storage unit, or fed into the public grid.
